1986 Dennis RS Fire Engine

1986 ex-Dublin Fire Brigade Dennis RS fire engine with Perkins V8-640 engine. This appliance is a replacement for the 1980 Dennis RS which I was intending to restore, but has since been scrapped following the discovery of a major engine defect. Testing of headlight flashers, sirens, strobes and other equipment took place during filming of this video. This appliance drives perfectly and is currently undergoing work

Thanks for the comment! She hasnt been out since this video was made, so no new videos as yet. We just fitted a new set of sirens, a new diesel lift pump, removed all the striping, and the whole body is rubbed down ready for painting. Ah yes, the Perkins V8's are one of a kind!!

Howya Peter, thats good to hear! Hows things up in good aul Kells? I got her in November 2008, yeah still have the 1979 one as well, got rid of 206-GZL (the 1980 ex-DFB one) as she had a suspected cracked block and a major fault with the injection pump, way too far gone to be worth fixing, so got rid of that and bought this one instead! Give me a call sometime, have some idea's as to what might be wrong with your rear brakes. if you dont have me number send me a message on YouTube! Cheers, Mark

always loved the sound of a dennis coming down the road. never realised she was a v8, it explains everything.
