Nostalgia makes me feel good: My second shiny Charmander on FireRed!

Man, things are just great right now. I am now the proud owner of a shiny Charmander! After watching KaosDarkrai's video about shiny Spheal, I was spurred to do some hunting. I decided to soft reset while watching The Real World: Cancun. I powered up my DS Lite and FireRed, received the Charmander, and checked the summary -- of course, it wasn't shiny. So I soft reset. I perfunctorily go through the motions again.

Except this time, something was different.

The 12,027th Charmander I received from Prof. Oak...was shiny!

I'm not gonna lie; the first thing I noticed was the blue border. Then the star. Then the golden Charmander on my game. It took a few seconds for it to really click that I had finally obtained a second shiny Charmander; once I came to that realization, I began dancing. Then I posted about it, and such.

Unfortunately, it was late when I got this shiny, so my parents were asleep. The camera is in their room, and I certainly wasn't going to run the risk of disturbing their somnolence. As such, I had to wait until this morning to take pictures and videos at the cost of being "in the moment" of when I first got the shiny. I hope the fact that I even bothered to make the video and post it on YouTube may make you realize that this is in fact legitimate.

I do not know its IVs yet, but I doubt that they are good. Not that I really care; it is shiny, after all.

@vanhaandeson Good lquestion. At this point, I already had all three shiny Kanto starters. I recently received a FireRed version from my cousin. I restarted it, and I figured I might as well go for another shiny starter while I had the chance!
