Apostolic succession was an argument used by 2nd and 3rd century apologists to establish that the apostolic churches taught apostolic doctrine and nothing less. Today it has been turned into an argument for authority apart from truth. The point is that apostolic succession in the early Christian writings is an argument in defense of apostolic teaching, not a doctrine about the church. That applies to Orthodox as well as Roman Catholic. It's the truth that matters, not an organization, though the church, the local gathering of the saints, is vitally important.

My friend....

You have excellent quotes here from the Church Fathers and you recognize the authority of Apostolic Traditions and Authority. You also say that all evangelicals need to "pay attention" to what these Churches taught. This is all well and good as it validates the Apostolic Faith. BUT.....How about the next clip you should to making is what these same churches taught about the Eucharist, Confession, Baptism, and praying for the dead?? Show me THAT and you will have credibility.
