Video of the Coalition Warrior Interoperability Demonstration (CWID) 2011, conducted in June, with Rockwell Collins successfully demonstrated technology that would provide a communications alternatives to first responders in emergencies or disasters.

In the demo, Rockwell Collins was able to transmit Internet Protocol communication between two locations at Colorado Springs and from Colorado Springs to Herndon, Va., using its FlexNet-Four software defined radio, CommuniCase Technology 120 (CCT-120) portable satellite terminal and UHF technology.

Range was expanded even further through SATCOM capability supporting mobile ad hoc networking at 512 Kbps using a suitcase-size Rockwell Collins CCT-120 satellite terminal connected to the FlexNet-Four. Satellite communications is key to providing the reach back capability needed among coalition theatres of operation.
