Background:

This vinyl 45 was created by unknown parties in the late 1960s / early 1970s (?) -- at the time, disc jockeys and radio station program directors typically only listened to the first minute or so of a single, when deciding whether or not to put it into rotation for air-play. Knowing this, the creators of "Stickball" made the first minute or so of their recording very soothing and normal -- thereby getting the song into on-air playlists at the time. Many deejays didn't realize the true nature of the song until it was live on the air, and they were already half-way into it...
