Genesis - In The Cage -1975 (from album The Lamb Lies Down On Brodway - 1974). The last tour with Peter Gabriel. Peter Gabriel - Steve Hackett - Phil Collins - Tony Banks - Mike Rutherford.
to my knowledge Peter Gabriel quit Genesis on there open tour of the Lamb but returned to save the five million dollar lose, because know one showed up and they had to refund all tickets that were bought.
@eliteturtle47 get a life ...true they were an amazing mass of talent but how do you think they would feel if they knew someone was hurt because of some dumbshit misguided fan who is too stupid to know the difference between Art and humanity?
@mediawerxbrian I'll echo The Musical Box rec. as I saw the original SEBTP tour in 74' and then the LLDOB tour in 75' but saw TMB perform SEBTP show around 2000' and was completely blown away. I walked in with an "oh a coverband" attitude but left not only totally impressed but grateful for a walk back down memory lane. I'd go see an original Genesis just doing the music, leave out the theatrics but if they wanted the theatrics and re-create the 70's shows, hire young players and let it go.
I have a CD from their Aerica's performance of "The Lamb..." And Collins is to me one of the best drummers. .. For the seventies, of course... Palmer and Collins... they are the top! Or were?...
@mediawerxbrian There was the WOMAD thing back in 82, but even that didn't get filmed. And the only reason Gabriel agreed to that one-off concert was because of desperation (money). So stupid.
That's all cool. To re-unite now, everything would have to be in a different key...neither Gabriel or Collens can hit some of the notes they used to. The presentation and style of theatrics would obviously change (however Gabriel's solo shows were amazingly produced...so I'd be curious how he'd present Rael now). I don't know if Gabriel is dead set against a reunion, but since he was booked for a solo tour when they last reunited he had to decline. Hackett's always willing & able
wow, great sound for 1975! luv these guys // memories...
