babylon the great is a powerfull nation that will be ruling the earth in the last days and that nation is usa read revelation16:18 there it says that there was a global earthquake the cities of all countries were destroyed and that GOD remember babylon the great and that babylon the great was also destroy by this earthquake. so if babylon is a religion how can a religion be destroy by an earthquake?

Good point about the nation, except for two things: 1.) What Babylon the Great wholly represents is the persecution of God's people. However, the harlot represents a nation... she is a nation that in the trib will perpetuate more persecution of God's people than any time in history. 2.) There is really no biblical basis except contradictory assumptions of that nation being USA, and USA will not remain the world power. This video is actually worth listening to!

Babylon the Great represents the persecution of the saints & the innocent with the use of political power or influence, which God will bring an end to. As for the harlot, she represents something else: she is a specific nation (Gog and Magog) that, in the FUTURE, will do the greatest amount of persecution. Therefore she wears the title of Baylon the Great. Just before the battle of armageddon, God will destroy her too - for being corrupt. However her leaders are the ones who will corrupt her.

@okebaram I think the evidence displaying Mystery Babylon the Great as America is quite cohesive. I really don't see Scriptural contradictions in the case of Mystery Babylon being America. As a matter of fact, no other nation fits all parameters except for America. As an American, I wish this wasn't so, but I believe the Scriptures display quite clearly that America will indeed burn in one hour. America in its quest for ultimate freedom, opened her borders to worshippers of false gods.
