I am not against electric cars actually, I have seen a future LMP concept that was all electric and I thought the Citroen GT is a really cool car but was diappointed the concept had a a gas engine in it though...
If i had an ev1, i would be doing burnout all day long, and not have a worry in the world. Electric drive has tonnes of torque through the entire rpm range, and has minimal moving parts to break

Sorry to cause a ruckus...
The reason this car died was ultimately (yes some people liked it) that there wasn't a huge market for it. But come on, it can't suit eveyone.
The car would've cost GM to make $75K-$100K, and they based the lease payments of a price of $34K, and that was over 10 years ago.
Plus, $33K is expensive, people desire reliability and practicality.
ev-1 was the most advanced electric car and now look where GM is and who is the #1 car maker TOYOTA
(In the age of $4.00 gas prices) That car would have been profitable, if GM actually gave it a chance
