More like the original than the clash version.

No! DK replacing the line "I fought the law and the law won" with "I fought the law and I won"

Let's just agree that it's a great song, and DMW do a more than decent rendition of it!

which people do you refer to?...idiot people?
young people? do you think the guy who wrote it would appreciate his artistic effort being labeled as someone else's?
people will continue to think of it as a clash song if you keep up the charade.
even the "original hit" was a cover as the bobby fuller four had the first hit with it, but they didn't write it. the crickets version didn't do as well as the bff version.
tell me why this man,, sonny curtis, doesn't deserve his day on youtube.

The Clash, and others who have covered his work mean the songs go far beyond the Sonny Curtis fan base.
I credited it to the Clash as the style and spirit the song is performed in is 'punk' rather than perhaps the country style Sonny originally intended it to be, as such a Clash fan will enjoy this cover but a Sonny fan probably will not.
Sonny Curtis wrote some great stuff I'm sure he enjoys seeing the various intrepretations of his work.
Didn't mean to upset you so much!
