Before the Iraq war there was Grenada, 27 years ago the United States sent 7,000 troops to invade the tiny country. The US media hyped up the invasion and made it appear necessary that the US invade to get rid of Cuban occupiers. Author Glen Ford says corporate media continues to prove how it can better spread war propaganda.

  • The opposition to the wars are huge. The mass demonstrations never being covered or deemed relevant by the right wing establishment corporate media. Instead events like Glenn Beck's rally are talked about for weeks......while the millions upon millions of anti-war demonstrators over the last decade have seen virtually no coverage. Their views are not tolerable in an educated elite circle where reality is dreamed up in free market formulas and excessive grandiose self descriptions and adjectives.

  • So the media sold the invasion of Grenada? Things haven't changed today except different names of those invaded.

  • I agree, this guy is an idiot. It's a well known fact that the Soviets and Cubans were behind initiatives for propping up a communist regime on the island of Grenada. Military advisers were in fact caught on the island during the invasion. We should have not invaded....then perhaps Grenada would be another Haiti today.

  • This guy is an idiot. Ask the familys of the Army Rangers and Navy seals and other army personnel killed there. Cuban regulars and well armed militia put up stiff oposition,

  • if shit can be canned this guy is full of it all cuban workers in granada were military cause when the survivors return to cuba some of them when to trial in military courts the most famous of all was the general "tortolo" who ran like girl trying to safe is life i dont blame him i would have done the same we have a slogan in cuba that says " IF YOU WANT TO RUN SUPERFAST USE TORTOLO SHOES " and i know this things cause im cuban born and raised but never comunist .

  • This guy is an idiot, remembering the fallen we lost there still scars some of us who were there.

  • Respond to this video... lol ! you are funny; it's good propaganda; or you are completely conditioned by the elitist mentality. Experience poverty then come and tell me how much "freedoms" you have. What I want are rights: the right to food, shelter, education and healthcare , the right to have a sovereign and self-sustaining nation, the right of equality and life.

  • @igorvasilievsy.. The "American idiot" you referred to freed you from your communist bond and allowed you to experience life for the first time. Your Soviet Union enslaved millions around the world. If I were you, I take a torch to Lenin's mummy and exorcise Russia from that communist garbage.

  • Typical leftist propaganda. Living off the capitalist tit and still bashing America for all of the world's problems. I remember Castro proclaiming at the time that the lat 12 Cubans standing after the battle had died wrapped in a Cuban flag. Days later we saw the commie bastards return to Havana with their tail between their legs. If you favor Cuba over U.S. move there and be happy.

  • @Jazzycat47 Shut up you ignorant idiot... It'z not a holiday. It is a day for remembrance of the people who died and its a epic part of our Grenadian history.

  • Also they forgot to mention Granada was a BRITISH dependency and NOTHING to do with USA...total disgrace
