NBC promo for the Monday April 24, 1978 series premieres of the daytime game shows "Card Sharks" hosted by Jim Perry and "The New High Rollers" hosted by Alex Trebek
THe only run of High Rollers known to exist is the WInk version, and I don't know if MGM cares about shopping the reruns around. MGM owns High Rollers apparently, because a clue about Trebek hosting HR(a triple stumper) appeared on J! about a month ago, and the disclaimer at the end of the show said the photo came from MGM something or other. Heatter was hired by Orion to produce the Wink High Rollers, and at least one pilot for Gambit after Heatter-Quigley broke up(ABC 1990 with Bob Eubanks)
@PedroGMan Depends on how many of those tapes still exist. Actually, what would be more interesting is if GSN attempted a new version of it. Merill Heatter already reworked "Gambit" and turned it into "Catch 21".
Yeah, I think they were both pilots because the contestant who won $28,800 on the pilot episode was a contestant on "Card Sharks" in early 1979 and lost. Now, if only GSN could get the rights to "High Rollers".
The V/O was the late Vic Roby.

I wonder if anyone has the premiere of Card Sharks from it's original NBC airing?

After Card Sharks, Jim Perry went on to do Sale of the Century.

Card Sharks clip comes from the pilot, and I don't recognize the backdrop behind Alex with the flashing lights

Both "Card Sharks" and "The New High Rollers" replaced "To Say The Least" and "Knockout" on NBC's Daytime Schedule.
