I'm not sure if this is just an anomaly caused by the camera lens. If this is a planet or white dwarf, well, it doesn't coincide with elenin's position. Right now, at sunset elenin is exactly above our heads... Don't know what this is...

  • omg get to the point!!!!!

  • Lens flare. Besides I just researched the NASA JPL trajectory and according to the diagram Elenin is off to the way left of earth and is the sun is not in alignment or near alignment to produce the effect you see in these pictures.

    Case solved.

  • This happens when you take photos of the sun, it's called a lens flare and they have been around since photography was invented. This used to be common knowledge.

  • That is not a lens flare. You can see the 3d of the spherical circle and the way the colours mould around the sphere itself, i don't know any camera that produces that kind of lens flare work. I think you got something there, keep up the work.

  • I have a Nex VG10....what lense filter are you using? Or did you point the raw lense at the sun? I would like to conduct my own test.

  • If you take a photo of the Sun, there's bound to be all sorts of lens flares and optical artifacts. ... Think how bright the Sun is, and how faint elenin is right now. When the Sun is in the frame, you won't see any comet or planet.
