Organist Diane Bish plays her famous arrangement of this great Easter hymn during the second inaugural concert series at Calvary Church in Charlotte, NC.

(sorry about the little glitch in the sound at the beginning. It's the video tape I got this from)

Sheet Music for this arrangement available here:

  • What hymn is this called?

  • @Moraleg1 Christ the Lord is Risen Today, and O Sacred Head Now Wounded

  • @bishfan Isn't this a different variation of Jesus Christ Is Risen Today?

  • @dwarrren9 It's a "toccatafied" variation : )

  • I wish I could download this song... bishfan, do you have an account for Contre Bombarde? My user name is pipeorganmaster. I think I have seen you on there once or twice.

  • @BH061595 I do have a Contre Bombarde account. The only thing is, I would be reluctant to post a non-Hauptwerk recording on that site. This piece is available on CD played by Diane. I'll post the link in the info bar.

  • Ahhhh, how beautiful.

  • Terrific arrangement.. One of the most beautiful organs I have ever heard. Thanks once again Ms. Bish!

  • Beautiful! Thank you!

  • It's really a dreadful shame this beautiful instruement isn't played mroe often. They use the band more than the organ. I remember walking into Clavary at 5 yrs old and just crying thinking of hof how it might be in heaven :)

  • @bishfan Thank you! :)

  • I'm European, and people there usually laugh aubout american organs, I also did, but I have to admit - this organ amazes me!
