The combination of RDL to an explosive high pull is an explosive movement engaging the posterior chains and upper back musculature. Typically used by weightlifters as a progressive training exercise for a clean and jerk, but it is also an athletic movement.

The movement can be done beyond the range (BTR) by standing on a box 3-6 inches, with a sumo stance or with a snatch grip.

  • @Amoney100 its probly safer than upright rows. high pulls use momentum from the triple extention to get the bar moving up. your arms arm just like straps

  • So, this exercise combines the RDL and the High Pull. Interesting idea.

  • Looks like its bad for your rotator cuff.

  • Also execute a fast catch just as it passes the knees. the impulse force from this alone will generate tons of adaptation. Funny just came up with something similar to this just a few moments ago. and the attempt at reversing power is the only difference. Nice work!

  • sounds good bro!

  • great idea!!!!!!!

  • nicely done.

  • i do the same thing but when deadlifting use a little bit more of my legs, i also pull a lot higher till my elbows pop out nice and high
