TEDxMileHigh - Robyn O'Brien - Patriotism on a Plate

In the spirit of "ideas worth spreading," TED has created TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxMileHigh, where x = independently organized TED event. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x=independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.

What a great speech. tho, I wish she had talked about GMO wheat too, which has not only new proteins but a new carbohydrate, with the ability to send blood sugar higher than eating straight sugar.

Apparently the TEDx organizer didn't get the letter from the TED directors which states, “It is not your audience’s job to figure out if a speaker is offering legitimate science or not. It is your job.”

Bt protein = non toxic to humans/animals. There are hundreds of studies on Bt. Idiot. It's on your organic food.

One canteen for one of their facilities chose not to use GMOs back in '99.

As a 60 year old mother I am sick with anger and grief that I trusted my country's USDA. I am chagrined to realize it is a tangle of politics and the fox inside the hen house. For those who tell me they can't afford Whole Foods, I say how much is your health worth? Stay with the poisonous food industry and you're going to pay more with the consequences. It's a sad state we live in - America is sick.
