The Epidemic Divide

Infectious diseases cause close to 14 million deaths every year worldwide. The mainstream media and public opinion doesn't pay enough attention to many of the diseases in developing countries. Many infectious diseases such as polio, meningitis, tb and others are a threat to the rich world as well. To limit the effects of epidemics, not only medicines and treatments are necessary, but also a culture of prevention. Volunteers of Red Cross and Red Crescent stand on the first line of fighting epidemics, we all can help them.
