I love the sorrow in Ed's voice when he says, "I'm sorry, Chris." I felt the same thing the first time I saw this episode air. Voting is a solemn act.

Most TV writers don't believe in the intelligence of their audience and explain everything in the dialogue or external narration. This show was so genuinely intelligent. One of the last, best shows in TV history.
