Wow! I watched Gunsmoke for forty years, and no idea ( Festus) was THAT good! ...What a major talent!....Thank you, Youtube!!!

I never knew "Festus" was an original "Sons!" Wow. Watched Gunsmoke every week with my parents and love the "Sons."!

I'm into Big Band Orchestras and the Crooners, and one little-known great Trivia Question is this: Who replaced Frank Sinatra with the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra as the lead male singer? Ken Curtis. Yes, the one and the same. I've won some money stumping people with that litttle-known fact. Anyway, thanks for posting this! (as a boy at the time Gunsmoke aired), "Festus" sang at the Fort Worth Exposition and Live Stock Show in the very early 70's and he sung not too different than this.

I have to agree with metalweapon2, the look on doc's face would have been worth a thousand words. I can just see that puzzled what the hell look, right now. The first time he would have sang like this in front of everyone. ABSOLUTLY AMAZING!!!
