  • @jongreek His another thing, why is he holding a metal Easton bat? And I don't think he looks like Roberto Clemente at all, Roberto Clemente was darker.

  • @63kraft Philly was WAY more racist in 50s and 60s than Pittsburgh. Just ask Dick "Richie" Allen.

  • The batting footage on the beginning shows "Roberto" swinging a contemporary bat and wearing shoes from this era. Please tell me that is not supposed to a scene from the 50s or 60s. Make sure you get all your period stuff right. Very glad someone is making a film about Roberto! Saw him play in 1971 and make an incredible putout.

  • @ConcepcionPR Movie studios shy away from sports movies, esp. baseball movies as they feel they don't make money. Also, baseball movies to have much of an audience outside of USA, Japan, the DR or PR. If the foreign market isn't there, they will rarely fund film project.

  • Why hasn't anybody made a good movie about Roberto Clemente? I mean chasing 3,000 was probably the only movie Ive seen about Clemente.

  • One of the greatest human beings that ever played baseball, he was not only an amazing ball player but an amazing person.

  • Jamie, you are the man!

  • The first feature dramatic film on Roberto is coming out coast to coast in theatre next year to honor the 40th anniversary of his going ot heaven. For an exciting update, go to kickstarter website and then search Baseball's Last Hero: The Roberto Clemente Story

  • when will it be released

  • Pittsburgh fans revered Clemente during the 50's 60's and 70's, but if this film is like the Ken Burns "Baseball" documentary or the American Experience Clemente biography, it will be full of references to how the racist fans in Pittsburgh couldn't stand the fact that their best player was not white. This is false and slanderous. Pittsburgh fans are looking forward to a baseball film - not a race baiting propaganda film attacking the people of Pittsburgh.
