Lyrics:-
baagon mein pade jhoole tum bhool gaye hamako ham tumako nahi bhoole ye raks sitaaron ka sun
lo kabhi afsaana taqdeer ke maaron ka saawan ka maheena hai saajan se juda rah kar jeena bhi
kya jeena hai raavi ka kinaara hai har mauj ke honthon par afsaana hamaara hai ab aur na
tadapaao ya hamako bula bhejo ya aap chale aao

Thanks Chamogaa ji for sharing this beautiful ghazal.Regards.Sarla.

  • Sarla,

I was 15, in school in India, I used to listen Ghulam Ali. As such he was a only singer, I would listen. After 45 years from than, he still lives in my heart. His Ghazals are like old wine & woman, always more enjoyable, more NASHILA.

  • Raag Pahadi?

  • sung with immeasurable sweetness....perhaps his most

    enchanting rendition.

  • Very Nice! Very unusual Theka played on the Tabla, but it is very beautiful!

  • This gazal [Baghon me pade jhuley] has also been sung by Bade Ghulam Ali Khan in a 3 min 78 RPM record. Does anyone have the recording?

  • "Ever has it been that love knows not its own depth until the hour of separation" said Kahlil Gibran... Such 'sweet sorrow' expressed superbly and soulfully by Ghulam Ali Sahab...

Chamogaa Ji, thanks for sharing it - in it are many a lessons of ghazal gayaki...

  • Thanks .V. C. Mago ji. With respect. Sarla.

  • Raqs, actually. It means dance in Urdu, Sarlaji. So here it means the dance of stars. Ravi ka kinaara is a reference to the bank of the River Ravi that flows by the city of Lahore. I also love the Chupke Chupke ghazal. It's probably GA's most sought after one.
