Never get tired listening to this. And what a shame Bruce hinself ignores repeatedly this great achievement of his. Different attitude, lacking somewhat the tragic irony. Still captures the mood in its own, less melodramatic way.

Covering Springsteen can be such a minefield - the highway's jammed with broken attempts that mainly suck. But this one connects, in part because you don't try and do it just like him. And man, those lyrics... Thanks for sharing.

it's one of the earliest Springsteen songs i can remember that really stuck with me. i was aslo supprised that it wasn't covered in the site. buy that is the last reason i did it. thanks again!!
