Close! Splash Mountain is based off the animated segments in Song of the South, banned in the USA due to racist stuff. The ride combines the stories "The Tar Baby" "The Briar Patch" and "The Laughin Place." As well as the first segment where he runs away. The stories were originally told by slaves, and then later written into books, and bought rights by Disney.

This ride is based on the book Tales From The Briar Patch. Very popular. All though you might never heard of it, it is a very popular book.

You do get drenched in the first 3 rows. The last 2 rows you get dripped on. The rides theme is based off of a banned Disney movie called "Song of the South".
