From the summer of 1961, a nice country sounding ballad by Adam Wade, who sounded a little like Johnny Mathis. This was a Top Ten (#10) hit for Adam. (You can hear this in stereo by typing &fmt=18 at the end of the URL and hitting "ENTER")

  • Thank you for posting this one! This was one of a few singles my sister left behind for me when she got married, and when I was a kid I played it a lot. But I haven't played or heard it in years, and it's good to hear it again.

  • You're very welcome. I remember this one when I was in high school, and it was also one of my favorites. Glad you enjoyed it!

  • @oldiesrnow : Sir, have you considered posting Wade's "The Writing On The Wall"? Every YouTube version I find is a remake.

  • They're all remakes? I didn't know that, I've only heard the versions on YouTube. Maybe someone reading this can help us out!

  • JUST MADE IT... In 1961 "As If I Didn't Know" peaked at No. 10 thus just making the Billboard's Top 10 and it spent a total of 10 weeks in the Top 100...

Hosted CBS game show 'Musical Chairs'; as a result became the 1st African-American game show host in TV history...

  • great voice. I like him better than Johnny Mathis too.

  • Better than Mathis. Somehow this magnificent singer was not promoted.

  • Great song. I just stumbled on this url. It was fortunate for me because perhaps someone has access to the Adam wade song: "Preview of Paradise". I have been able to find it. Does someone know how I might get it.

  • Just "Writing On The Wall". The "As If I Didn't Know" and "Take Good Care..." versions are originals.

  • Thanks for posting. Always think of my childhood and home country that I left 31 years ago whenever I hear this song. My older sisters always listed to the oldies. It was a real treat whenever this was played on the radio. So many memories are wrapped up in this songs. Thanks again.
