This is from a school project in which we re-enacted a scene from Shakespeare's beloved play, Hamlet. In this clip, Kyle Fendt, who played the role of Ophelia, decided to ad-lib her freak-out scene.

  • I must admit that i agree with banana since there are different adaptation of everything now a day...so what makes literture any difference. It doesn't. I would say that shakespeare would be clapping his hand, thinking of how ridiculous his scene would look in a different perspective, if he was alive, of course. go video..

  • Thank you.

  • Listen, cinnamon buns, this clip isn't about production value, largely because none of us were ready to film this. It just happened exactly as you see it here. It's about the comedy of a man playing Ophelia and delivering ad-libbed lines in an unexpected way (i.e. "I have a really heavy dress, and when it's wet, it's hard to swim"). Plus, you can't deny the awesomeness of the laugh-turned scream at the end. It's insanity at its finest.

  • I loved this movie. I'm positive Shakespeare would have no problem whatsoever with it. Ophelia went crazy, this scene shows it. Cidly can just take his alagy and shove it.

  • Ok I will try this from a different perspective.

The lighting through out the entire video is very bad and straining to an audience member. I cant understand anything he says throughout the video as well. The cars seen in the background are not a good Idea (you could have filmed it along a cleaner background) The camera lost parts of him during sections of the movie.

And for Gods sakes please don't call Sweetie, Honey or love it's freakin anoying.

  • Listen, honey, I'm sorry I tarnished Shakespeare's pure and lofty name.

Oh, wait. That's right. He put sex jokes and double-entendres in almost every single one of his plays. Whoops.

Write back when you actually have a valid argument, babycakes.

  • If you really belive that just because I misspelled something I am wrong about your video than you are entitaled to your own opionin I know I'm not alone in thinking that your video is crappy. Also taking a scene from Hamlet is the same as putting the tital on you video. Regardless of whether it the whole play or simply one scene I expect to see something good to honor the original play.

And please don't call me sweetie

  • If you want to talk about "shcooling," how about the fact that your comment about Shakespeare is nothing close to an analogy, because it's not comparing anything to anything? Wrong use of "than" and "then," respectively along with other grammatical and spelling errors. But that's nitpicking. Also, you're one to talk about putting the name "Hamlet" on a video. This is only a small excerpt from an otherwise entirely scripted scene that we filmed. Hope to hear from you soon, sweetie.

  • Yes Shakespeare is dead that was ment as an alaogy. Yes I know this is not the exact play but if you stick the name Hamlet on any viedeo than I come expecting something better then crap above. Also don't compare your movie with someonelses yes those are crap as is your particular adaption of this scene.

Anyway, Shut up and stop acting like you shcooled me.

  • First of all, I'm sure Shakespeare is presently quite dead. Second, you probably didn't notice that this was not a verbatim adaptation of the Bard's play. Third, I'm pretty sure that Shakespeare would be more upset about setting Hamlet to crappy contemporary music with Blair-Witch style cameras and jump cuts. Thanks for your feedback, love!
