Nick's P.O.V.
"Wake up Nicky." I felt someone shake me. I opened my eyes, it was very blury but then everything became so clear. I saw my birth mother, standing over me with my back pack. "Honey your leaving now." She kissed my forehead and wiped it off. Great, I'm going to Colchester the cloudiest and wettest place on eart! "Thanks." She left my room and I got out some clothes to wear. I got out some skinny jeans and a t shirt with vans. When I was done chaging I looked at the clock 4:37. "Ughhh..." I didn't want to move. We were only moving because of Joe's stupid poetry thing! Mom and step dad weren't even coming. And my dad and step mom weren't coming either. It was just me and Joe and Kevin. I rolled my eyes, Joe wasn't my favourite person right now and knowing he was the reason we were moving, and I was living with him was causing me headaches.
I went downstairs and saw everbody was eating. Oh joy. I took my seat on the couch and turned on the t.v. "Aren't you going to eat with us, son?" George asked me. Oh yeah I didn't like to call him dad. Especially since he isn't my dad. "No George. I'll eat on the road." My mother shook her head. "Eat something Nicholas." My mom told me. I just kept focusing on the t.v. "Stop being such a drama queen and eat some bacon Nicky." Joe told me. I turned my head to see Joe eating some pancakes that he drowned with syrup. How dare he call me a drama queen! He's the one who's making all the drama! I rolled my eyes. "Just, here," Kevin threw an apple at me. I caught it. "Eat that please." Kevin looked at me with pleading eyes. He knew I hadn't eaten since two days ago. I'm such a stupid kid. I nodded and slowly began to eat the apple. After breakfast was over my mother and George walked us to Kevin's truck. That was quite uncomfortable if two people were going to sleep in there. "Call us when you get there, Kevin. We'll be waiting." George hugged each of my brothers. When he came to hug me I just gave him a handshake. We handshook and then he left. My mother gave each of us kisses on our heads and waved goodbye to us. I didn't want to go. "Mom, I don't want to go please don't let me go!" I begged her while I was in the car, my head dangling out the window. She had tears streaming down her face, and she mouthed the words 'I'm sorry.' George just went inside the house. "Mom please!" The car was already backing up the driveway. When we were done backing up she was in the house. I couldn't believe I was actually going. Before I knew it we were on the freeway with a big moving truck behind us. I stayed silent for two hours. Joe was fast asleep 15 minutes on the freeway.
"Nick, you should get some sleep." I was picking a song to play on my i pod to avoid this conversation, but I could still here his words. Why can't this damn thing be louder! "Nick, I know I sound like mom, but you need to eat. I don't care if your doing this wierd protest thing or whatever, but don't harm yourself. We're going to Colchester whether you like it or not. And I don't care if you are going to be bitchy about it, but I only care about your safety. So when we go get something to eat, will you actually eat this time? Because we have no dog you could give your food to this time." I teared up. My dog. I missed him so much. And what if I didn't want to eat huh? "Whatever." I looked at my favourite song. When your gone. I know it's Avril Lavinge, but it sort of fits with my situation. I had to break up with my girlfriend just to go to Colchester.
