To reduce motion blur in telephoto images taken with a robotic panorama head, a wireless remote is used to initiate the camera's two-second timer. When the shutter opens, the only vibration should be due to the mirror flipping up. See Gigapans made with this system here: http://gigapan.org/profiles/19523/
