Nice try, but IBC has credibility, even if I think the military caused deaths is way too high. The numbers and how they are reported is in line with what is being reported and has been reported during the war. Your figures equate to 830 plus people being killed every single day of the war since it started. The MSM is not so good, but it couldn't miss those numbers every single day for 3 1/2 years.

What did we win? It would seem we stopped a genocide in the making. Stopped Al Quida from formenting a civil war. Stopping Iran from killing US soldiers. Gave the Iraqi government a chance to move forward. What did you hope to accomplish?

So are you saying we stopped genocide before it happened by killing 1,089,000 Iraqis? Are you saying we stopped Al Queda from creating a civil war by creating one ourselves? If US soldiers weren't in Iraq they wouldn't be in danger if Iranians. Also, the Iraqi gov't supposedly isn't formed just right yet, I think that's the "justification" for being there? What did I hope to accomplish? Nothing, I never thought we should go there to begin with.

Neither did I. We have to deal with what is and not what it should have been. By the way the Iraqi death toll most widely followed is IBC (Iraq body Count), IE. AP, NYTs, Al Rueters etc and list the total civilian body count around 75-80,000. They also say 26,540 civilians were killed during the past year. 536 due to coalition troops. This is a site that is not favorable to the coalition. I wonder who killed all the rest and do you think we should have stopped them from doing so?

OK if there is a difference in our numbers of 1,000,000 that means we both need to do some research. I'm going to dig around and see if I can find some different sources. You go dig too and see what you can find. Meet you back here.
