Both shows were part of the Sentai genre, so they tended to stick to the same old tired formula: a team of 3 or more (with 5 being a common number) young heroes (superpowers were optional), color-coded for easy identification, with leadership usually falling to either ''black'' or ''red''.

There were a ton of shows that all followed this same cookie-cutter template, so (naturally) they all look alike.

Because it all comes from Japan. And, FYI, Voltron came BEFORE Power Rangers, just like the anime GoLion came BEFORE ZyuRanger (the sentai Power Rangers is based on).

0:57 This is the part where they call to the Japanese original Beast King: Go-Lion.

The reason why the mouths would still move even if they just say Voltron is they were saying, "LET'S GO-LION!", and it had so many different theme songs even for each different Robot Lion.

No They Wouldn't it has happen a few teams, but no matter what The V-team ALWAYS wins.

i guess thats cool. this show came out and ended all before i was born (1992)

but still. i wouldnt mind them losing in 1 episode. formulate a plan the next and beat him the 3rd episode. ya know?
