  • Youtube ate my first comment I think :( I find the orientals fascinating. I guess it is particular orientals in certain combinations with certain virginias that give most of the individual Balkan and Latakia blends their 'colour and tones' and thus gives the blends their individuality and character, quite aside from the latakia content.

I wish my palate were more sophisticated so that I could explore the orientals myself, but am grateful that you are doing it and sharing with us. Thanks.

  • @hampshirepipe

Hi there my friend thank you for watching and for your kind words! I totally agree with your observation. I find orientals very fragrant and a type of tobacco that can make a blend in many cases. Again, thank you very much for your kind words. Keep em puffing!

  • @TheEnglishmanSmokes

Hi Steve, that you for watching my friend and I am really happy that you liked the video. Happy puffing as always!

  • Alex, I'm with Colin (LightYerPipe) in saying that was another excellent tobacco review. Keep smoking & reviewing ... it really helps me decide if I'm not sure about a particular blend. Steve

  • @larshermanns

haha, those subtitles are funny, lol. Youtube cannot understand me...cc just appeared, could be a new Youtube feature. I have ordered my McClellands from the US as usually. Well, I buy all my tobaccos online anyway. Imagine an oriental as an english with good portions of oriental leaf without the latakia part. They tend to be quite fragrant. This is the first oriental mixture that I have tried (and Red Rapparee, depends on whether you believe that it has latakia or not).

  • Hi Alex,

a great review as usual. :) Unfortunately McClelland is not available in Germany. And I still have not yet tied any oriental mixtures (except Ascanian No. 1 which contains two pinches of Oriental besides Virginia and Perique). How did you get this (cc) option below your video? The subtitles are kind of funny... :))

    Cheers

    Lars

  • @760Piper

Thank you for watching! It is said that Drama is better than this one, but you never know till you try. Katerini Classic would not be in my top 5 for example, but it is an interesting oriental nonetheless. I think I'll buy it again in the future. Happy puffing!

  • @MrBulkyboo

Hi Bulky, thank you for dropping by my friend! I got the tobacco from the US, that's where I mostly see McClelland tobaccos.

  • Thanks for the review. I've been wondering about this one. Looking forward to your review on the Drama reserve as well. Nice to have a connection to the tobacco you smoke.

    Cheers...

  • Jasu Alex,

before i was starting to watch your vid i thougt: "Oh, Katerini sounds Greek!".
