I remember sitting on the floor of my bedroom listening to my older brother's album on my 'record player'. I loved these songs then and am so glad that I found them again!
I think this is the first Contemporary Christian Song I ever heard. I was blown away. Many many great groups have come to national attention in the following decades, but wow, there was something so special about this early group.
Such a beautiful song.Praise the Lord for the words that flow from their hearts and give praise unto our Lord Jesus and bring hope and refreshing times for those who already know Jesus and those that don't!
OH THAT OPENING TAYLOR WAS OUT OF TUNE TOMMY. BUT WONDERFUL MUSIC. I WAS THERE. MAY 8 1970. CONVERSION DAY. THIS WAS ONE OF THE SONGS THAT BROUGHT ME THERE. LOVE U GUYS LOT'S
Thanks for coming to Henderson and Las Vegas, Nv It brought back such awesome memories hearing your band. I used to attend Calvary-Costa Mesa when I was first saved. God used your music to be such a blessing to me and many others.
The last few days the Holy Spirit had been putting bits of this song in my heart until I finally couldn't stand it and had to Google it. Then I came here and found this wonderful video! Thanks for posting this and bringing back wonderful memories!
I have my guitar out now and am re-learning this and other of their songs from many years ago. Man, this is and was REAL Jesus people music!
Seen them at my home church, CCM Downey and they sounded great as ever. They do have a compilation CD out now called "The Book of Love" and it includes never before seen performances and music. It may be on the Word For Today's Website.
Wow a brain burst. Great songs. Great Group thanks to a Great God for you all. One of the first Christian LP's I owned after being led to Christ in1972.
Hey, I think it's difficult to get them on CD. I have search everywhere for them, without luck. I have some of them on vinyl and cassette. I working with put them into CD. A friend og me fix that first record with The Way into CD for me. That is one of the most beautiful CD I have. I don't know where you live ? But maybe i can send them to you when I'm done with that job. If you want to. I'm living i Norway with polar bear around each corner :-)
unbelievable that their voices sound like in the 1970's :-) - "Love Song" and "The Way" were one of the first christian bands I've listened to in the mid 1970s - still seeking for their live album on CD (have it only on cassette). Their drummer sounds the same like on their live album
I played this tune all the time on Christian Radio in Santa Barbara. Our SB band played on that stage in 1980 - now, 30 years later, a few theology degrees and 20+ years of pastoring later, I still look back at those "good old days". Thanks for posting this - made the tears flow!
OMG!!! I come home, and well it's the Lords magic, I listen to you guys! You helped bring me to Jesus, at a concert, right there where you are playing in this Video, over 30 yrs ago!!! I still feel the MAGIC!!! The Lord Jesus Christ!!!
The 2nd song I heard Love Song play at UT Austin, 1970. God used these brothers to help solidify my young faith and I cannot imagine where my life might have ended up if he hadn't caught my attention through them. In '72 I went to Southern Cal where, before entering the Army, was baptized at Pirate's Cove, Corona del Mar by Tom Stipe, also one of those influential people at Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa for me at the time. God's blessings on all of you in Messiah Yeshua!
So many memories flood back from so long ago. What a wonderful time that was thanks to the members of Love Song for leading the way with timeless songs like this. Well done guys and thanks for all the songs. You'll never know what some of them meant to some of us when it was the darkest times, but brightened by the Light sung about in your music. Thanks again for getting back together and sharing those times and memories with us!

It's seldom that a studio recording matches, but this is ...more than a perfect match. Today has got to be a special day...why? Jesus!
