This is Toby again. New to this clip is the "touch y' back" routine and, finally , the handshake. All this has been achieved by clicker training.

  • I could be mistaken, but it always seems to me that my llamas understand a double- or multiple-syllable command far better than a single one. It could even be just my voice! I find this particularly important in llama cart-driving, where the verbal commands are of paramount importance( since hand ones are obviously not seen!) I say "Standing" rather than "Stand".

    This is remarkable training... you have a real communication with these creatures which is a very special ability.

  • Out of curiosity, why is it that you don't use single-syllable commands?
