well thanks for putting it into perspective for those of us who have never been communist..but if you're only 23 and czech..then I guess you don't probably remember much about communism,since u were just a small child.....?

Sure. And all we knew about America, was that there were many homeless all around :-)
I was very hard to be rational during those times. Only morally strong people were able to. Communists talked about happiness, but it was in fact numbness. It is said that we had the highest mountain in Czechoslovakia - We went downhill for 40 years and still there was no bottom.
Now people can be free, but it's bit like with tamed animals - once the soul is broken, it's very hard to stand straight again...
