  • while the part the united states played in the war was vital, the cost of the war was still being paid by great britain until 2005 when the last payment for the lend lease goods was paid... we also lost 265,000 dead in the war alost identical numbers to the u.s.a. with a population a quarter the size.. don,t underestimate the part the british played...

Not to mention Britain's major cities being firebombed and later, bombarded with V-1 and V-2 rockets which caused thousands of civilian casualties. The country which really sacrificed though, was the Soviet Union, with roughly 20 million dead. I'm proud of America's role in the victories over Germany and the Empire of Japan, as my father was a combat veteran of WWII, serving as the captain of a PT boat in the South Pacific. The US, though, escaped major damage and carnage.

  • you guys are fucking stupid, you indicate about who the fuck has more soldiers lost, that so pathetic, you feel cool if your land lost more or what?

  • while I have a deep respect for the British, your numbers are off. The Americanns lost 396,000 dead in the war. But what's the difference, both countries paid big time.

  • I think that only propaghanda massage is the one about sabotage and strikes; they said it to prevent any strikes; but all the rest is true including Iraq and Syria, there were pro-germany coups in both countries, and nazis even sent their planes to help fight against allies. And I agree with user jayanata55 "We should always be grateful to the United States". It wasn't USA war, they could still trade oil to Japan and Germany, however, they would have to face much stronger Axis few years later.

  • Welcome the black in the 20th century!

  • HAHA SYRIA?! Syria doesn't even have oil! This is the biggest load of shit I've ever heard. and nice justification for invading Iran kinda reminds of why we invaded Iraq lol amiright?

  • What lies! What horrible propaganda! Germany was nowhere near Syria or Iran! Hitler couldn't get to it, even if he wanted to - I'm surprised the newsreel didn't say, "The British hold onto India, preventing the Nazi Panzers to refuel!" Bad lies - instead, poor countries like Iran/Syria were invaded. Well, let's see how Britain deals with the Iran of today!!!

  • America was nothing to the war, it was russia that helped save us from the Nazis, ^^

America was just a load of crap as usual :D

  • Thank you for your comment ... also i forgot to add that the british lost over 65,000 dead in air raids during WW2... this following a war 20 years earlier in which 750,000 british men lost their lives in flanders... if the cost of war is to be meausured in lives no country lost more than the soviet union with 20 million dead...
