Success! I hacked down a couple pounds of them, but there was still some higher up that I couldn't get. There were tiny little bugs and ants crawling all over them that I shook off. Now it's in my refrigerator in a glass dish covered with plastic wrap. I couldn't find any paper bags to put them in. How long will they stay good for?

@wildmanstevebrill Good point! Hopefully I'll be able to reach the darn things.

@imperfectionKillz Get the mushroom now. Leaving perishable food out in the heat and rain overnight, with all the bugs, can ruin it, and who knows how long it might have been sitting there already.

I just found 10 lbs of chicken mushroom in the woods. I'm so excited to go cut it off tomorrow. ^.^

Cook them tonight, using seasonings you use with chicken. If they're old and dried out, cook them in a sauce or soup. The bugs lay eggs, which produce maggots. The longer you wait, the more hatch. Mushrooms are especially perishable in the summer.

@123JumpingJacks Sorry, I didn't see this post earlier. Go to my site, (you can Google me—they don't allow URLs here) and to to the For Sale page. Thanks!
