  • nice video and helpful. I just find out that flat-out fix is more difficult to do than Rohloff oil change. I'll try 15ml oil for winter time and put later more if got too much "noise".

  • "tighten to .5 newton meters"; how do I determine this torque?

  • Very helpful, particularly if the expensive oil can be made to go further by using only 15ml. I wonder, however, whether some of the sound-damping would be lost by injecting less than the "official" amount.

  • Why do you have to remove air at the end? Surely when you unscrew the syringe atmospheric air pressure will just push the same volume of air back in that was removed. Is there a valve on the Rohloff hub?

  • What environmental catastrophe would ensue if you did throw it in the dust??

Bacteria will break the stuff down anyway. That's what they do.

  • very good video. can you load a video up, where is to see how you do the spokes of the rear wheel in? sorry for my bad english

  • I recnently changed oil by this video. It´s actually no problem. There is truley no better shifting than by a rohloff.

  • FritzleHamster, 50 ml of light waste oil per year is a tiny environmental price to pay for a hub that will last a lifetime. It has to be better than throwing away worn out derailleur transmissions.

  • Very useful to a Rohloff novice. Better than the manual..

  • as long as the oil waste is recycled properly it doesnt seem so bad to me. This stuff is certainly better for the environment than heavy grease in a normal hub , or metal bearings that you throw out. Initially the hub is harder to pedal, but as it beds in after a few thousand k it frees up alot. Mine is a year old now and gets better with age..
