Paris é a capital e a maior cidade da França, bem como a capital da região administrativa de Île-de-France, na bacia parisiense. A cidade é atravessada pelo rio Sena. É a segunda maior metrópole da Europa (só menos populosa que Moscovo), e é a maior cidade francófona do mundo. A sua área metropolitana tem cerca de 12 milhões de habitantes.
A cidade é conhecida mundialmente como Cidade Luz, devido a ser uma das primeiras cidades a possuir uma iluminação urbana, sendo uma das principais cidades turísticas do mundo. A cidade encanta pela beleza de sua arquitetura, suas perspectivas urbanas e suas avenidas, bem como por seus vários museus. Paris is the capital of France and the country's largest city. It is situated on the river Seine, in northern France, at the heart of the Île-de-France region. Paris also hosts many international organizations such as UNESCO, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and the informal Paris Club.
Paris is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world, with over 30 million foreign visitors per year. There are numerous iconic landmarks among its many attractions, along with world-famous institutions and popular parks.
