I like the message that this video is trying to send to drivers out there but that scene a 0:40 was actually legal. If you notice the gate on the other side of the crossing was up. These kinds of crossings are usually found near train yards, train stations, and a few other locations. The railroad does this so that in areas where the train gets close enough to activate the crossing but doesn't go through it, cars in the lane farthest from the stopped train can pass creating less waiting traffic.

@suedoplet yeah, and while were at it we can make a money launcher and shoot it at all of our other problems. Think about the financial aspect of a "solution" before you open your sewer about it.

@PkKingX11 or just make all train crossings bridges for the cars to under instead -._.-

Most people are just impatient however there are those situations where the train is not moving and does not plan to move for several minutes but leave the gates down anyways. I enjoy watching the train pass by but when they are stopped hundreds of feet down the track while the couple and uncouple it would be considerate if they rose the gates while they were stopped, if it is only for a minute or two.

Better idea, make massive wall gates. Then cars won't be able to cross.

@edcassells the lights were flashing and the bells were ringing. That is why there are gates, lights and bells. If the gate wont go down, they still have the bells and lights, and if the lights arent working, there is a bell. As long there is a gate down or lights flashing or bells ringing, dont cross.

Riiiight/. Remember, when the lights flash and the gates lower, going through them after that point is the same as running a red light (which 9/10 sane humanoids agree is very stupid). Besides that, it's illegal. Anyway, any train crew including myself has no true desire to run into your side and hurt you or your family should you not make it all the way through the crossing. Just sit there...we'll be gone shortly.
Except that it is against the law. Just because you feel as though you can safely drive above 60 mph on the freeway does not make it legal. Your opinion does not constitute the law...If it did we would be in real trouble. We already have one idiot running the country. We don't need another.
