  • @thatnikonguy...which one do you recommend nikon 55-300 vr or this tamron? thanks

  • @kabonegro17 I was really impressed with this one - the VC is just so great.

  • I am using the Tamron 70-300 VC USD lens with Canon 60D and am totally dissatisfied with the results. I did give the lens to the service center. They returned it "repaired" however the new results are no different. Have not been able to get any sharpness in the photos. I also face the problem where it keeps hunting for focus. I have to manually adjust the distance and then let the autofocus work

I am really disappointed and feel as though I Have wasted approx $600 on the lens.

  • @cssardesai that is terrible, sounds like you got a total lemon! I would be requesting a replacement.

  • thanxx for the video ! nice preview !

i 'm thinking of getting that lens for my Canon 550D , but i would like to know if we can use a polarized filter and the hood at the same time ? and does the front lens turn while zooming ?

    thanxx a lot !!

  • @faridMacLeod Glad you liked it. Yes, there is room to use the hood - as long as it is a normal screw on filter, and no the front does not rotate when zooming.

But if you mean CPL filter, remember that you will need to rotate the filter for best results - and that will be a problem with hood on - you will need to take on and off.

  • i hav nikon d5100... which lens wud u recommend??? this tameron lens or nikon 70-300mm Afs??? thanx :)

  • @thatnikonguy

i read some reviews about this lens that said that the colours were a bit boring.

can you confirm that or post some colourful pictures comparing this lens with an original nikon lens.

  • @Kasirkin29 yep, because it using Ultrasonic Silent Drive

  • @thatnikonguy I was gonna ask how many pants you were wearing, maybe it was cold :P. I'm a canon and I'm on a budget, I can't really afford the 70-300 IS USM and I'm considering this one, do you think it's a good choice?

  • Is this lens silent when auto focusing?

  • I'm actually using the Canon version of this lense on my 40D.

While I don't know how it would perform on something that demands more resolution, I am completely satisfied. Great sharpness, amazing stabilization and a reliable AF. This one really is a bargain. My favorite lense next to the 50mm 1,8 - whenever I can, I actually opt for the Tamron.
