  • @ChuckMcLaughlin1 I was wondering the same thing, did he ever answer you?

  • @ChuckMcLaughlin1 did, he ever reply to that, because I was wondering the same thing?

  • I replaced my laser lens, now the disk drive won;'t spin, and I know I plugged everything back in, it accepts the game but does nto spin?

  • I tried this but it was hard and I broke one of the wires on accident so I had to buy a whole other wii And I"m not much of a handy man either.

  • Thank the Wii is fixed just in time for Christmas... the boys are VERY happy... Good Video

  • Is there a way to remove the solder without a soldering iron?

  • I found out the answer to my own question about removing the solder. The new Laser comes with two solder points, which prevent an electric charge (such as static electricity) from flowing through the cable. That protects the laser during shipping. But if you don't remove the solder, electricity is still blocked, so obviously the laser won't work until you remove the solder.

  • Very good, detailed tutorial, but WHY do you have to remove the solder points? You mention that they protect the laser from static, but then say to remove them. WHY? And why don't you add new solder once you remove the old?

And don't you risk damaging the ribbon cable this way?
