Chaplin performs the famous song "Charabia" whose lyrics now you can read (i'am from Catalonia (Spain). This song don't mean anything. Anyway, the gesture is very funny !

  • whaT IS THE ENGLISH MEANING ?

  • I'll find this in Internet. And a very good fellow said this: (i'll try to translaid in english another time (now i'm very bussy).

  • The reason why he used gibberish was because he never believed in sound films (this is the last film of the silent era, years after sound already came in), although he knew that his audience always wanted to hear him speak. So he got around it by not technically saying anything.

  • @flyingchimp99 It's a mixture of French, Italian, and Latin. Chaplin isn't technically saying anything here. He's taking a jab at the sound era in filming, conveying that he doesn't need to use his voice to explain a situation, he's always used pantomiming to do that.

  • @KusEmok666 its french dumbass

  • aaah nothing like the classic films.

  • ya just gotta love the way he walks in the first 3 seconds followed by his cuff links flying into the crowd.

  • @manishbabu It doesn't have any meaning. It's loads of languages mixed up together. Basically gibberish

  • so cute !
