"Can you imagine if we could do that today?" We do. "...with all this nonsense?" It is significantly and precisely because Europeans used their power to let themselves be there, and just kept doing it that we have the 'mess' we do today. Not to be a jerk, and I understand (but don't agree) if your comments in the video were mostly heuristic, but I think the nostalgia and lack of acknowledgment of the political/ethical concerns about this betray a methodological blindspot.
