Free blacks were part of the Southern population and also served in the CS army without being anyone's servant. Jim Crow was thanks to the government in Washington. The court cases that followed further reinforced segregation. All the Supreme Court justices who were in favor of Jim Crow were Northerners, except one and he was a Southerner. It's always been Yankee policy to keep the races apart. Your ignorance of history is blinding.

@BooBoo0818 I agree with you, but I just don't see how the kind of lynchings and terror that went on to blacks in the South after the civil war would have been as bad if the North let the South implode on itself with the blacks and abolitionist whites collabaorating their own local revolts as needed in their own time. Instead the Union mostly white army looted and carpet bagged the whole place.
