@fraizer57 get your facts straight. when Gaddafi came to power Libya was poor African country, 30% literacy rate. By 1985 - 76%. Now Libya government pays for education, healthcare, housing, water, electricity. cars are 50% subsidized by gov't, Gas is $0.14/liter. College/graduate school abroad - UK, US, etc, including apartment, airfare, stipend, completely paid for by the gov't. Those who graduate and don't get jobs receive median wage in industry from gov't. people live very will in Libya.
