Here is CSX intermodal 5487 in Blasdell, NY, with 5348 tailing. This unit has a particularly loud Nathan K-5HL horn, the loudest one I've heard so far. The camera may make it seem not as loud as it really was, but it is still noticable. Enjoy.

As for the long line of cars you see on the bridge at the beginning: A little while before 5487 came, this line of cars came very slowly up to the bridge from the same direction, being pushed from behind. This could be the work of B&P 1513 again. I seem to hear his horn several times somewhere in the CSX yard every time I come to Blasdell. (Filmed on May 9)

  • crossing bell seemed kinda slow

  • It's also a bit quiet. It's funny though; the NS crossing bell just down the street is even slower!

  • CSX units 5474 and 5475 also have this type of Nathan K5HL. They are tuned a bit different, but sound pretty cool. Both of these units are GE ES44DC locomotives.

  • This K5HL is tuned normally, just a bit louder than normal. There's the K5HLL, which sounds almost like an oddly-tuned K5HL. I don't know much of the specifics of the locomotives.

  • It was etheir 1514, 1513,1512, or 1511. The are the switcherws that tend to travel that track. Also were the 2 lead units dash 9 44cws?

    Great job

  • I honestly don't know much about the CSX locomotives in detail. I'm going to try and research that.
