Truly beautiful.

Beautiful song. Beautifully sung and played. The changes you made to the words were quite subtle and turn this into a much warmer love song. Brilliant.

I would love to get the tabs for the music.

Very nice version, simple and pure the way a folk song should be.

Absolutely wonderful, makes me cry. Your voice has such a beautiful melancholy quality.

Actually there is no know original version of this song.
The roots of the song are unclear, with some claiming an English origin and others claiming a Scottish origin.
It is also very similar to the Northern Irish song Carrickfergus.
It has been sung since around the 1600s.
There have been constant changes to the words over the centuaries, and this tradition in folk music continues.
