@kurianchandy what you do is you listen to a song until you can remember the tune then get in the right minor and go up and down a coulpe of tunes ands see if it sounds like the song, thats what i do

@honeycloud There are techniques that help with that. You basically use the three major chords for each key as a starter. From that point you lean more passing chords and extended chords and learn when and where to use them in a song. I teach all of this on Piano By Ear for Beginner instructional DVD found on my website.
