Nintendo just released this cool little program called DISCO LIGHTS on the DSiWare channel.
You have 6 default light patterns which all do the same thing. They are rock, love, pop, hip-hop, metal, and some other one. Still no techno. I don't know what Nintendo has against techno. You can just ignore those 6 because they are just lame and flash colors on and off.
Focus on the DISCO DISCO button. Press it and the screen will go blank waiting for outside music to play. It's pretty sensitive so you can't have your music too loud. But it basically flashes colors at random based on the beat of the music. The louder the music, the brighter the screens get. However, if the music is really loud, the screens mostly stay a really bright version of the color it is currently on or white. Keep the volume just right and the lights flash very well!
I tried a few songs of different types to see how it reacts and behold, techno works the best. Metal is terrible. It just stays at the current color changing brightness. The ty[pe of techno the plays best on it and looks coolest is dubstep style with wobble-bass.
Music I chose to test:
Akira Kiteshi - Pinball
Mega Man 10 - Solar Man
Plok (midi format) - Akrillic
Solar Man remix I found on youtube
E-Rotic - Cat's Eye (Ventura Mix)
Get a few Nintendo DSi systems together and turn on the Disco Lights program and watch the seizure inducing lights!!!
