Friday Tonic migrates to the Clore Ballroom for a special event fusing music and film, exploring songs of obsession, betrayal and lost love. Shamus Dark brings his show to the Southbank and performs classics from the American songbook by Johnny Mercer, Harold Arlen, Cole Porter, Hoagy Carmichael and many more.
The arrangements - ambient-like with trip-hoppy beats - twist new life into gems like Angel Eyes, All or Nothing At All and Night and Day. Shamus performs against a visual backdrop that explores the world of film noir and femmes fatale - from Fritz Lang to Billy Wilder, by way of Peter Lorre.

I'm really unhappy that I can't be there. Stuck in Hong Kong. Booked a cheap hammock in the bilges of a rusty old colander that makes it back to Blighty for the beginning of May. Too late. Keep my seat warm at the Goat & Parrot, Shamus...
