This is an overview of the emissions systems on the 6.7L and how they work effectively and dependably together to make the 2011 Ford PowerStroke one of the greatest vehicles to roll off an assembly line.

  • You mention the 2 seperate cooling systems. Unfortunately you mentioned the EGR cooler has a seperate cooling system that cools it... it's actually cooled by BOTH cooling systems - the primary and secondary systems. So not only is the engine cooling system in danger of failing because of EGR cooler failures but so is the secondary system that cools your fuel, CAC, transmision. Either way - a cooling system failure of either system could very well result in catastrophic engine failure.

  • @tmrufio So then whats the point of two separate cooling systems? I'm also quite sure that there are people out there capable of breaking it no matter how well the engineers build it.

  • DPF DELETE OR ELSE. haha

  • @largemouthbassrigs Big Brother is looking for you. It's just a matter of time before he takes you in for social reintegration sessions. Ha Ha

  • Great video. Due to mid west winters my old 7.3 is about due to be replaced. It looks like the 6.7 might be the ticket. How are these things holding up for towing heavy

  • @5AXISDLOCKHART No sir, Powerstroke is the Ford name and it is not a trademarked name. There are musical drum heads called Powerstroke made by Remo. No they wanted to distance themselves from Navistar but too much time money are branding has been put into the PowerStroke name to abandon it. Initially the 6.7 was known a the Scorpion motor but that got dropped at production time.

  • @BeltDrivenMadness Urea not Urine. You cant piss Budweiser into your truck and expect it to work.

  • @toplcame Being a descendant of a cheap Scotsman, it is genetically impossible for me to spend that much money for a truck.

  • @powerstrokehelp It's my understand the point of the 2 seperate cooling systems is to cool the EGR gasses in 2 stages to reduce thermal shock inside the cooler and prevent rupturing. In addition I assume liquid cooling the fuel, transmission and charge air cooler is a more precise way of controlling the temperature of those systems. It may be a good idea but I also see some new possible failure points. I agree with you - everything's going to break eventually.

  • Wanted to let you know you made one error. On a chassis-cab model the order of exhaust aftertreatment components is DOC, DPF SCR. On pickup models the order is DOC, SCR, DPF. You're looking at a chassis-cab at the 2:00 mark

  • You are almost right about the emissions control systems not needing to come off and that Ford was after reliability but they aren't quite there. They need to follow GM and add a 9th injector for regen. Some 6.7s are still blowing up because of regeneration, not near as bad as 6.4s because use of the newer technology reduces need for regen but we still have blue valves in 7 and 8 as well as diluted oil thanks to regen. But we will have to deal with it because removing this stuff is now a felony.

  • @JonesDieselPerforman No its easily accessible from underneath just like the fuel tank..

  • how the hell do you access that system once the ambulance body is sitting on the truck frame?? pull it off like a 6.0 cab head gasket job?
