  • Was This Song Released Before Cher?

  • @gibsosgerbil yeah...about 30 years before. The Walker Bros released this in 1966, Cher 1996. Actually, Frankie Valli from the Four Seasons sang the original but his version didn't make the Hot 100 in 1965.

  • 1966 was such a great year for music, it's a shame we can't turn back the clock...

  • I keep on thinking of a guy in the old west about to have a last stand with a bunch of outlaws and he knows that he's gonna die

  • This is one of my favorite songs of all time. I've loved it since I first heard it in junior high school. I could listen to it over and over again. Scott Walker has one of the best male voices I've ever heard. I don't know why he wasn't a bigger star. This was music at its best.

  • Stay Gold

  • @zman291977 Wow, that's right, the Four Seasons also did this but it sure sounds different!

  • Thank you for this nice recording of this timeless classic, brings back a lot of memories...

  • THE WALKING DEAD!!!!!! MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA That show introduced me to this song...now I keep thinking about the scene with the tank.

  • The Kelstairs charted Their American Hit Single With "The Sun Always Go Down Tommorow"

    In November 1966.
